Reflections on the Power of Passion and Persistence

Studio Update | February 20, 2023

Dear Artists,

As artists, we pour our hearts and souls into our work, striving to create beauty and express our innermost thoughts and feelings. And along the way, we often encounter criticism, negativity, and even hate. It can be discouraging, especially when it comes from those we love and respect.

But I want to remind you that when you receive criticism or negativity, it’s not really about you. It’s about the person who is speaking those words. If you’re living authentically and pursuing your passions with strength and conviction, you’re bound to trigger people with their own insecurities and inner turmoil. They might be envious of your confidence, intimidated by your courage, or simply feel threatened by your drive and success.

It’s important to remember that these reactions stem from their own fears and struggles, not from anything you’ve done. And as difficult as it may be, the best way to respond is not to shrink back or give up on your goals, but to persevere with love and compassion in your heart.

I know that hearing negative comments can be heartbreaking, especially when they come from those close to you. But I want to encourage you to keep your head up, stay true to your vision, and continue creating your art. Your passion and persistence will inspire others, and even your haters will eventually come to see the beauty and truth in what you do.

And when that moment comes, when you succeed despite their negativity and doubt, it will be all the sweeter. It will be a testament to your strength and resilience, and a reminder that you’re living your life on your own terms, pursuing your dreams with courage and grace.

So don’t let criticism or hate stop you from doing what you love. Remember that this is about them, not about you. And keep on creating, with love and persistence in your heart.
