I don't have any work done on the AI image I wanted to start on as I ended up working to finish up a few other images and start a few encaustic pieces. My work week exploded with track meets and continued Skills USA planning for Nationals. So, I decided to go ahead and spend some more time outlining some areas we can use AI tools. My art and many of my friends, acquaintances and clients art was used without permission in the initial training of some text to image AI programs. It was wrong, it was theft. Here is where I am with that. AI will fundamentally change not only art but business and likely humanity as a whole. It represents a paradigm shift in so many things. Many of you remember the days before the internet and even the personal computer. AI is bigger than those. So for me, I have decided not to mope and whine about the injustice of how the early days of AI ripped off data. I can't change that. What I can be sure is that if I don't figure out best practices for embracing and using AI, I will no longer have a viable business. It could be months or even years but, if I don't change how I am doing business I wont have one. So I choose to embrace all that is good with AI and to recognize and respect the challenges it brings. So, lets move forward with that context in mind.
As a visual artist, educator, and content creator, you can use AI to enhance your business and streamline your workflow. AI technology can be used to analyze your audience, generate content ideas, create personalized recommendations, and automate certain tasks. In this blog post, we'll explore some of the best ways you can use AI to improve your business and better serve your target markets.
Audience Analysis. One of the most effective ways to use AI is to analyze your audience. By collecting and analyzing data from your website, social media accounts, and other digital channels, you can gain valuable insights into your audience's interests, behaviors, and preferences. This information can help you tailor your content to better suit your audience, which can improve engagement and conversion rates. Deciphering your target market is one of the most important and time-consuming part of your business whether you are selling courses or originals and prints or both. This is the area most helpful to me at the moment.
Content Creation. AI technology can also be used to generate content ideas and even assist in the creation of content itself. For example, you can use AI to analyze popular content in your niche and generate ideas for new content that aligns with your audience's interests. Additionally, AI-powered tools like GPT-3 can be used to create written content such as blog posts, social media updates, and even video scripts. The biggest challenge with this of course is twofold. One, making sure your personal voice in represented. For me, a bigger thing to consider is how that affects my co-creating with the Holy Spirit.
Personalized Recommendations. Another way to use AI is to create personalized recommendations for your audience. By analyzing your audience's past behavior and interests, you can recommend specific products, courses, or content that are most likely to resonate with them. This can improve customer satisfaction and increase revenue by providing a more personalized experience. I am still working on this. New tools are coming out literally on a daily basis.
Automation. Finally, AI can be used to automate certain tasks, freeing up your time and allowing you to focus on creating high-quality content. For example, you can use AI-powered chatbots to handle customer inquiries or automate your email marketing campaigns. For me, automating parts of email (not content) is yes. Customer service inquiries? (A big NO for me but expect it from most businesses.)This can help you free up time to focus on other aspects of your business and means more time in the studio, less in marketing. This is the area where I will likely spend the bulk of my time with AI. I have a few interesting workshops in the next few months that I am attending.
In summary, as a visual artist, educator, and content creator, there are many ways you can use AI to improve your business. By analyzing your audience, generating content ideas, creating personalized recommendations, and automating certain tasks, you can streamline your workflow and provide a more personalized experience for your target markets. As AI technology continues to evolve, it's important to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and incorporate them into your business strategy.

The image below was not painted by me, it is an AI image that I prompted to paint in my style. It is uncanny. Rather than the boy from last week this is the image I want to work on.
